Papers are Submitted

Elder Shoemaker submitted his mission papers on August 28th, 2011. There were a few hiccups with the Dental requirements, but with an additional visit to the doctor and and an added notation on the forms, Stake President, President Pulsipher submitted his paperwork. The expected day for the white envelope to arrive was September 8th, but with Labor Day on Monday, we figured it would arrive on the 9th. Our mailman usually gets to our house around 11:30. Nate checked the mailbox around every half-hour throughout the afternoon. Finally, at 5:00 that evening, his brother got home from XC practice to inform Nate there was a white envelope in the mailbox. Nate hopped around the entryway with excitement and eagerness to open the letter. But wait... Dad was at work and would not be home until 7:30 that night...so Nate would have wait.... and wait...and wait. We called friends to let them know it had arrived and invited some to come over to the house at 8:00 for the unveiling. Those who joined us were: Richard, Kathleen and Victoria Roberts, The Sintay family, and Angie Forrester, It was a tortuous three hour wait, spent walking around the block, viewing the sunset with a special friend and pacing the floors. Finally at 8:00 and phone calls to Grandpa and Grandma and Spencer & Chelsey (Hawaii on their honeymoon), Nate opened his letter.
